Two Vacancies in our Eastbourne Shed Project

Shed Co-ordinator x 2

Part-time – 25 hours per week

£ 18,586 per annum pro rata

Age Concern Eastbourne has been awarded Big Lottery funding that will enable The Eastbourne Shed to grow from one shed open 3 days a week to 3 sheds. The new sheds will be in Langney and Hampden Park. The ‘shed’ is a safe, supportive and friendly setting where older people can socialise, learn new skills and practice existing skills by working alongside each other. It’s a place for older people to access a workshop-type space which contains tools, work benches and raw materials to construct, repair or finish a variety of projects. It’s a place to chat and enjoy a cup of tea “shoulder to shoulder” and have a sense of wellbeing.

We are looking to recruit two resourceful, practical and enthusiastic Co-ordinators to lead the development of our brand new sheds in Eastbourne. The role will involve developing and facilitating the Shed to the required standards, develop and deliver practical sessions and ensure ‘shedders’ are actively engaged in the development and the running of the sheds.
